Easter Post - O Jerusalem, Jerusalem

Is there any way for me to Make my Blog more Peaceful.  I don't feel like Debating right now.  It's Easter.  Christ Loves you and has Died for your Sins.  That's What Christians Teach.  It is a Very Special and Meaningful Message that can Change the Lives of those who Believe it.  Perhaps I will one day be willing to Debate with the Non-Believers who wish to Discredit this message, but that is not the Reason for this Post.  It's Easter.  It's a Holiday.  It's Time for a Truce.

Here is a Passage about Christ's Love that is a Little Different than just the General Easter Message that He died for you...

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!"  (Matthew 23:37, KJV)

Or do you Prefer it in the NIV?

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing."  (Matthew 23:37, NIV)

I'm even going to allow you to Read the Entire Chapter if you Like and in Three different Translations, so Take your Pick which of the three you wish to read.  Matthew 23 NASB, NIV, KJV.

Interestingly, the First Part of this Chapter is about Religious Hypocrisy.  It's not Actually just about those who do not Believe, but also about those who are already Religious, but do not really Know God.  These are Like Wolves in Sheep's Clothing.  They are Religious, but not really Followers of God.  This Same Phenomena Exists in the Current Christian Churches and Unfortunately, is the Reason Why some of you Have Chosen not to believe in Christ.

Huh.  I was just reading this Passage just now and Thinking about how it is Perfect for at least one of the Things that I have been Wanting to say to those who Follow my Blog.  No Wonder God Brought it to my Mind.

You see there are Eight Woes, in which Jesus is coming down very Hard on the Religious Leaders of His Day.  One of my Favorite of the Verses is...

"You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!"  (Matthew 23:24, NASB)

And there also is a Warning...

"You serpents, you brood of vipers, how [y]will you escape the [z]sentence of [aa]hell?"  (Matthew 23:33, NASB)

All This Strong Language spoken to the Religious Leaders of the Day.  No Not to the Basic Every Day Sinner, but to the Religious Leaders, yet after this comes the Lament...

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her!  How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling."  (Matthew 23:37, NASB)

Don't you see?  Jesus Loves all People and wants to save all People, including the Hypocrites that have Hurt some of you and He also Loves You.  Please Remember, though, you have not been Hurt by Jesus, but by Hypocrites, much like those that Jesus is Speaking out against in this Passage.

Well, I'm just not getting much Response to my Easter Posts. Perhaps it is because I asked for a Truce. I haven't gotten much response from Christians either though. The Blogs are so darn Slow right now. Even the Hit Counts are Low. Where did everyone go?

What I liked about this Post when I did it is the contrast in Jesus. On the One Hand, He was coming down Very Hard on the Scribes and Pharisees and yet on the other Hand, the Lament that is Expressed for Jerusalem shows that He has an Incredible amount of Compassion within Him.

Jesus was Very Direct when it comes to Confrontation. I would not Consider Him even the Slightest bit Politically Correct, yet He was also full of Compassion, which just goes to show you that the Absence of Politically Correctness is not Synonymous with Hate.

What Jesus really wanted was to Gather the Children of Israel together, "as a hen Gathers her chicks under her Wings". That's what He Longed for, yet because of their Resistance, He instead had to Confront them Harshly.

Right Now, another Passage of Scripture comes to Mind that is the One about Him Making a Huge Scene in the Temple...

"12) And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13) And said unto them, 'It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.'" (Matthew 21:12-13, KJV)

That's not Exactly Politically Correct and Tolerant either. Is it? Yet Matthew 23:37, as Quoted in the Post, shows an Expression of Incredible Compassion for the Same exact People that Jesus was also being so Rough with. Perhaps this is the Key to Understanding the Mystery of Christianity; not Politically Correct in the Least, yet also not Hateful. Those who are Determined, though, to just see Hate, when ever an Opinion is Expressed, are never going to really get what Christianity is really supposed to be about.

Ok. I'll tell you what? Forget the Truce. Go ahead and say whatever you need to in order to get your Feelings Expressed.

Hi Lista,
You have written two posts very quickly. Jesus does want all people saved, but no man can come to Jesus unless he is called by God. There is a time for every thing and for every one. As for religious leaders, no one must be too high that they do not listen to what Jesus says, they can not build according to their own plan, for except the Lord build the house those who labour will labour in vain.

Hi Brenda,
Thanks again for a very lovely Comment. As to Writing two Posts very Quickly, there are a lot of Bloggers out there that Write Daily and I can't even begin to Keep Up. They say that the more you write the more Hits you will get to your Blog. I was even a little Caught up in that for awhile and was trying to write a Post two to three times a Week, while Commenting on as many of the Blogs as Possible, yet I was sort of Exhausting myself.

The Lord has Delivered me from that and I now Write only when God Inspires me to.

As to my Above Comment, here in America, we have a serious problem with a Concept Know as "Political Correctness", which implies that there are certain things that should not be said and it has gotten so bad that some Opinions are actually called "Hate Speech" and quite Often it is the Christians who are Targeted, especially when we Speak Out against things such as Homosexuality, yet this whole "Politically Correct"/"Hate Speech" Idea is in Direct Conflict with our Concept of Freedom of Speech and it doesn't take a whole lot of Study of the Gospels before you Realize that Jesus was not "Politically Correct" at all. He spoke very freely.

If you get the Chance, say a few Prayers for America, will ya'? And I'm going to say a Prayer right now for the UK.

Love ya' in Christ.
