God's Guidance/Decisions in Life & in Blogging

I first wrote this Post Yesterday morning and now I'm wondering if I should Post it or not. At the time in which I wrote it, the comments on my Previous Post had slowed down quite a bit and I was wondering if I should just keep Rambling for the sake of keeping my Blog moving and I also wanted to Expand on what I had just said in that Post.

In my last post, I was sort of hoping for comments relating to Experiences within our lives that actually have Life verses those that make us feel as if we are Going Through the Motions, but that subject didn't seem to move anyone to comment on it. I've seen a Parallel to this in Blogging, such as when I Post just to Post, verses when I sort of Feel Led to Post by something deep inside of me. Such Inspirations come occasionally, but not anywhere close to daily.

I guess I didn't want to just let the subject drop because I do sort of want the chance to answer some of my own Questions.

It is the Spirit of God that brings me Life and when I sense His guidance and Inspiration, I feel very much Alive. In my Previous Post, I asked the question "How do I keep a feeling of Life and Energy in the things that I do throughout the day and how do I keep Life and Energy in my Blog?". Usually the answer to this is to remain as connected as possible to God, because He is where my Energy and Life comes from, especially when it comes to Writing Inspiration.

So I guess that this Post is just an expansion of my Previous Post. I expanded on it a little in the comment section and I am doing so again now.

When I made the Statement in that Post that "Some of the Questions that I keep asking myself just don't seem to have answers.", I was thinking about an issue that reflects my continuous struggle with simply making up my mind, such as "Should I or shouldn't I Post to my Blog?". I talked about this in one of the comments that I made beneath my Previous Post and the Post itself addressed the Question of "Significance verses Posting Speed".

I wonder if I should just repeat some of what I said in one of the Comments below the Previous Post. The Question "Should I or shouldn't I Post to my Blog?" comes up often and quite often it relates to whether or not I feel that what's on my mind at the moment is "Significant" enough to be "Worthy" of Posting and thus the Question, "Is it more important to Post often or to Post something that's 'Significant and Meaningful'?" and I continue to be Indecisive on the issue and may never fully figure it out and/or decide which the most matters to me.

The Bottom Line is that when I sense God's Direction and Guidance in my writing, my Blog really Comes to Life, but when God doesn't appear to be saying anything to me that's specific, I have trouble making up my mind what to say.

For some people, God's Guidance is more on going and continuous. For me, it is more occasional than continuous. When I'm not sensing anything that strongly, it's as if God is saying, "I don't care. Do what ever you want" (aside from sinning of course), yet when left on my own like that, I have trouble making decisions.

When I originally wrote this Post, I was feeling as if my most recent Post wasn't really that Significant and perhaps neither is this one, yet I may have at least one Thesis Statement that has meaning. The answer to the Questions "How do I keep a feeling of Energy and Life in the things that I do throughout the day?" and "How do I keep Life and Energy in my Blog?" is to "remain as connected as possible to God".

Anyway, when I originally wrote this Post, it contained the below links because when it feels as if I'm not Posting anything that's really that Significant, I feel tempted to tell my fans what Blogs I've been conversing on, so that they can find me if they want to, for just because I'm not Posting on my Blog does not mean that I'm not writing interesting things somewhere. So here's where I have been lately if anyone is interested. The links are listed in the order of the most recent comment that was below them at the time that I collected the Links some time Yesterday morning.

Interesting..post where you have been discussing. Neat! (How did Z-man & Lista contrive such a long dialog without yours truely muddying the waters? :)

I didn't get started in that conversation on Z-Man's Blog (the Post, "Moral Instruction") until Comment 30 and I don't think I ever read the first 29 Comments. Maybe I should have. When I was searching the page for my name just now, I discovered that they were actually talking about me.

It seems many bloggers are 'inspired' by politics. From their personal POV, of course. These seem to proceed as either
preaching to the choir...or contentious, even nasty, argument.
(a few are are of such narrow content that they attack news items
within minutes...and sometimes turn out to be false.) These types never admit it, which is rather interesting. We see it from both political extremes. There are a few political blogs which are well done, wherein meaningful dialogue takes place.
IMO, these later bloggers tend to think through all aspects of an issue. So, even in the political type blogs we have the range from B/W to gray. So, from a reader/commentator standpoint, we pick and choose according to our own interest. Another factor is style: from erudite writing, cleverness, allegory, stream-of-concious to conversational. And again, style and content are separate to the reader. I guess I am attempting to respond to 'blogging about blogging', which is IMO, an interesting topic. I suspect that many, like me, have a mental list of sites that can be categorized in columns of interesting, fun, poignant, boring, appealing, dumb, mean, arrogant, etc. as well as B/W to gray. Nor should we neglect those site-specific topics like fishing, gardening, hiking, bible, history, hobbies (my wife is a quilt/scrapbook site junkie) photography etc. These vary from a half dozen to hundreds of 'hits' as well. I agree coming up with topics and running a rapid-fire
newsletter affair would be daunting...that and computer illiteracy keeps me from even attempting a blogsite! :)

One again, the "Got a Go" phenomena is occurring. I just wrote about 2/3rds of a page Comment that I have saved to the C Drive by using my Word Processor. I'll be back with it later.

Maybe I'm going to have to go out looking for a whole new group of more Spiritual Bloggers. I don't know.

As to the Preaching to the Choir Idea, as well as Contentious, Nasty Arguments, why do you think I talk about Extreme verses Compromise so much? When I actually go out and read some of the Blogs out there, I think that this subject fits the audience rather well, that is if only they would hear it.

I don't really want to participate in the Preaching to the Choir/Contentious, Nasty Arguments trend out there. That's what happens when you talk to people in relation to Extremes and are not willing to Compromise.

As we have discussed before, the Blogs that do have the meaningful dialogue are not always the ones that are the most visited. People seem to love the Conflict instead. Go figure.

Yes, readers seem to pick blogs based on both Interest and Style.

Oh come on, BB. You could run a Blog if you wanted to. All you have to do is toss the silly notion that you have to Post often aside and anyone can do it.

When I started, I was Posting between 9 and 10 times a Month, but it has dropped off to 2 or 3 a Month. That's not much more than one every couple of Weeks. Ok, so maybe my Hit Count is not that high and I'm mainly just talking to a few of my most loyal friends. Oh well. My Blog is what it is. What can I say?

I've been coming across an interesting dilemma lately. I have in the past found writing to be very therapeutic, yet when I enter into this type of writing, people do not make as many comments.

The above Post for example, though it does have a Thesis Statement that I think is Important and it is even something that I truly believe can benefit others besides myself. Even so, I wrote this Post and also the last one in a frame of mind in which I was searching for answers.

As I do this sort of writing, the answers do in fact come to me, for God speaks to me even as I Ramble, yet the mood of it is more Therapeutic than Polished.

The dilemma is that I can only keep the "Polished", "Full of Life", frame of mind up for so long and than I find myself needing to do something that is more Therapeutic, or should I say written just as much for myself as for anyone else.

As to starting a Blog. It's not as hard as you think. Even I thought at first that I was going to have to know a bunch of HTML Language, but this isn't so. It's done on line, but it's just like using any other Word Processor. To start, just go to Blogspot.com and follow the directions on the screen. It's easy. Trust me. If a person like me says it's easy than you know it's so.

I guess my current Indecision is over whether I should Post when I am in a more Rambling, Searching, Therapeutic sort of mode, or should I wait until the Answers are more clearly in my head before I Post something.

Spiritual blog..I suspect Soapie and I may lack in that area. But,
in checking around, we find
1 2 3
...but, watch out..apparently spiritual includes astrology, new age stuff and Buddhists...:)

Well, naturally my Blog is always going to be Christian, but I'd rather use the word Spiritual, so that people who for what ever reason are bothered by some Hypocritical Christian that they have come across will not be reluctant to come and read my Blog.

I also like to emphasize the idea of Relationship, rather than Religion and I think the word Spiritual points more this way than the word Christian, which a lot of people view more as a Religion, even though Relationship really is more of the focus.

The blogging 'inspiration' must vary from person to person. Every so often we see a blog simply shut down, either from lack of inspiration or simple frustration.
It is far easier to be a plain commenter..need no inspiration at all, just a natural reaction to what someone else has observed. In that sense, you are an 'actor' and us readers are 'reactors'..heh

If my Blog ever shut down, it would be because of Indecision, not Lack of Inspiration, or lest not ever Lack of Ideas about what to Write.

Most of my Posts are actually more Reactions than Initiated Actions. For Example, if one of my Comments on someone else's Blog is either too long, or too key to just be a Comment, sometimes it becomes a Post on my own Blog instead.

Perhaps this is my chance to tell you that at times when talking to someone who doesn't have a Blog, I feel as if I am the doing all the Initiating, at least in this particular Relationship and I wonder at times, what the other person would say if he was allowed to Pick the Subject instead of me.

It would also be good if I had the chance to communicate the simple message, "I was thinking about you today." by visiting that person's Blog.

It's no big deal, though. This is just some of the things that I've at times thought about.

Can we assume that Shasta the troublemaker has graduated from
canine finishing school? :)

Lista said...

No, Actually, Shasta is Finally Scheduled to start his Obedience Training this week. The earlier classes did not fit into our Schedule.

The thing is, though, he has calmed down considerably and is way better than he used to be. He is actually starting to act a little more like our other dog, Casper, who was not necessarily perfectly Obedient all of the time, yet also not Annoyingly Obnoxious.

I'm starting to realize that Dogs do tend to not only calm down as they get older, but also become more Loyal and in this realization, I've concluded that unless the Owners are Totally Clueless about Dogs and how to Raise them, most of the typical Annoying Puppy Habits do eventually go away and most Puppies will eventually become Lovingly Loyal Adult Dogs.

I've always felt that a Dog does not have to be made into a Robot in order to make a good Pet. We only Scheduled the Obedience Training because he was such a Horribly Difficult Puppy, yet I am already beginning to see how pleasant he is going to be as he grows up.

I've even considered Canceling the Class since it is sort of Expensive, yet I need to see what Ray wants to do.

BB,
I'm assuming that your Change of Subject in your above comment is in response to what I said in that...

"I feel as if I'm the one doing all the Initiating, at least in this particular Relationship and I wonder at times, what the other person would say if he was allowed to Pick the Subject instead of me."

I actually do, though, prefer to keep thoughts and comments categorized on my Blog according to the Subject they relate too. The above Comment, for example, could have been placed on one of my Posts about our Dog, Shasta. I only Posted it because I had realized that I might have invited the change in Subject by a statement that I made in an above Comment.

Your next Comment, that I really do hope you will not be too bothered if I do not Post, is in response to something that I wrote on Griper's Blog. Why didn't you respond to me there?

Forgive me, BB. I do sort of like staying on topic, yet I'm thinking about the statement that I quoted above that came from an earlier comment and am reminded now, that if you choose to respond to me on an earlier Post or on someone else's Blog, you are in fact Initiating some Choices relating to Topic.

I'd also like to allow you the Freedom to come to me whenever you want to and say something like "Hey, Lista, we are having a really interesting discussion over on so-and-so's Blog at (Page Address) that you might be interested in."

BB,
Today, I'm sort of thinking about something I said in an earlier Comment above...

"Most of my Posts are actually more Reactions than Initiated Actions. For Example, if one of my Comments on someone else's Blog is either too long, or too Key to just be a Comment, sometimes it becomes a Post on my own Blog instead."

It really is odd trying to figure out what part of a Conversation on someone else's Blog will end up becoming a Post on my own Blog. Sometimes I say things that are really Key and really good and yet they never do end up being repeated as a Post on my Blog. Other times I have something Key to say that doesn't get said on any one's Blog, not even as just a Comment.

It's odd what happens. I get Distracted or something. For something to become a Post, it has to come to me right at the right moment in which not only does it seem Key, but also the timing is such that I'm not overly Busy or Distracted by too many other Life Activities or too many other Conversations in the Blogasphere.

I like to think that God has some affect on whether something remains in my mind long enough to become a Post or not. I try to pray often in order to increase the likelihood that this will be so.

Here is an interesting note...

My next Post, "Preaching to the Choir" was inspired by one of the links that I put in this Post, "Socialism, Explaitation of the Worker?", yet not one of the ones that I put in larger print. It was not the one that contained the comments that I was the proudest of when I first did this Post, but it got better later and ended up inspiring my next Post.
