Back from Family Camp, so Please do Say Hello.

I guess I should do another post informing all of you that I'm back from family camp. It is taking me a while to actually post something that's significant. For some reason, it's often easier for me to respond to other people on their blogs than to initiate a post on my own blog. I do try to post once in while, but I'm afraid it's not always often enough to keep my hit count up.

Oh well. I guess I can only do what I can do.

Was family camp fun?

Hi BB,
That was quick. I guess I'll just repeat what I told Griper on his blog.

"The Canadian trip was a real adventure and we saw lots of neat stuff, but the family camp trip was the one that was restful, relaxing and refreshing. We just sat and visited and played games while looking out at the Sacramento River. We were, of course, no where near the big city of Sacramento."

Now I'm back and in need of getting back into my routine.

Since I was a tyke, I have been fascinated with rivers. Two ran together in my hometown and I grew up along their banks. Unlike lakes,
rivers are coming from some mysterious place, passing by and proceeding to another. Likewise,
my fascination with railroads, the train approaches, passes by briefly and heads on. My wife and I paddled hundreds of miles of rivers and streams in Wisc & Minn, but now we are a bit elderly, our canoe sits dust-covered in the garage. Being a senior doesn't stop me from following tracks and trains (along with bored wife) and
my basement is filled with model trains. Now, I think I will google satillite the Sacramento River, see where it starts, goes and empties. ..your fault. :)

I actually did an allegory once along the theme of a river. I wonder if you would like it. That is if I could ever find it. It's on a disk somewhere, I hope. It's more about the passing of time than it is about politics.

Where a river comes from is more mysterious when we are young and innocent. As an adult, I know very well were the Sacramento River comes from. It's from the melting snow up on Mt. Shasta.

Oophs! I shouldn't have told you the answer to a mystery that you intend to look up. If you have any more questions about where it ends up after your own research, just come back and ask me, yet by then you will probably know. Maybe you already do. Oh well.

Hi Griper,
I was almost going to say the same thing, but I didn't want to intrude on the "bored wife". If there are three of us than it's Ok. Let's go.

I don't know. Along some railroad track in Idaho, I guess. It was BB's suggestion. Were are we going, BB? I don't actually care as long as it's scenic.
